Teaching the position of letters

I've created this floor activity resource to help my little boy with awareness of where letters go. The letters move around and we put them in a different order. You can practice words, sounds, do tact and receptive as well. To give you an idea of size, I've used 5 A4 sheets.

Whatever writing scheme you do, this is a really useful activity.

This is from my son's pre-writing skills book. Such a simple but clever way to do fine motor skills, reading and practice Manding for the different colour pens. This is so easy to reproduce yourself too!

Pre-writing skills

Laminating sheets and using dry wipe pens saves a great deal of time when we are teaching concepts and Motorplan. Dry wipe tracing books and resources can be found in on-line shops such as Ebay, Amazon, stationery shops and supermarkets.

Tracing numbers- dates

This document will help your child to trace numbers on a date format, which children are usually required to do once they start formal education. Once they master the larget font, you can gradually start decreasing the size.

Tracing numbers- random sequences

This document will help your child to trace numbers randomly, so they do not learn to trace numbers 1 to 10 in a rote manner.
